PERRY, James Douglas. Suddenly in his sleep on 20 September, 2011. Loved and missed by family, and friends, his wife Margaret Ward-Karlsen-Perry, step-children Erik, Krystal, and Hannah of Ottawa, a beloved son of Douglas and Zella Perry of Wallace, NS, dear brother of Susan Work (nee Perry) of Truro, NS. James graduated from Acadia University a geologist, and was in his heart always a rock-hound who shared his passion with so many over the years. A second degree from UNB in computer science led to a move to Ottawa and career change that saw him apply that same passion and a puzzle-solving mind with success as a valuable member of the analysis team in Statistics Canada. A gentle, caring giant and true friend whose smile, wit and teddy-bear hugs always lifted the hearts of those around him. A memorial service will be held starting at 6pm Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Bell’s Corners Branch 593, 4026 Richmond Road, Nepean, ON K2R 1H7 (ph 1-613-829-4609). In lieu of flowers, donations in James memory can be sent to the Ottawa Mission www.ottawamission.com.
